Changing the adhesive label rolls often requires a labelling machine to be brought to a disruptive and costly standstill or, in the worst case scenario, can even bring the entire production line to a grinding halt. The label web splicing system JetSplice®, an innovation from Verpackungstechnik Jetter GmbH, is an elegant and efficient solution to this problem which allows for a quick and brilliantly simple transition from the old label web to the new.
The JetSplice® splicing procedure can be carried out either manually (for slower band speeds) or, for moderate or fast-paced band speeds, as a fully automated process. For the fully automated solution, the labelling machine needs to be fitted out with the appropriate technology by the manufacturers.
The fully automated version of JetSplice® enables a much simpler uninterrupted labelling than, for example, the commonly used parallel installation of two dispensing heads and the corresponding printing and control systems. Such setups require a large amount of space and are ultimately very costly.
